AGM minutes Thursday April 7th 2011  at 19.00
Present: Sylvia Michael NSDC, Bruce Laughton  Notts CC, Bob Gardner, Brendan & Sue Carson, Eve Knight-Jones, Jane Kinnear, Derek Sayer, Eddie & Judith Neale

Village Chair election - chaired by Sylvia Michael
Patrick Andrew was appointed unopposed.  Proposed Jane Kinnear, seconded Derek Sayer

  • Matters arising
    a)  View point, expect scheme of restoration and change to be completed in April 2011
    b)  Winkburn Road dyke, as it nears bus shelter needs attention. Joint visit with new man Mike Keeling and Bruce Laughton.
    c)   Phone Box,  to get paint code from Eakring, funding offered by Bruce Laughton from  NCC
    a)   Winkburn top road, council will not back fill, but will be putting up “passing place” signs.
    b)   Mike Keeling to inspect The Hollows where it approaches T junction for the natural spring.
    c)   Jim and Bruce, is Maplebeck defined as a school bus route for gritting purposes, are Notts CC obliged to maintain, in order that Emergency Services and buses can access village, will Emergency Fund benefit Maplebeck  ? Bruce reported that specific funds are in place for harsh weather but have to give priority to A Roads.

  • Any Other Business
    a) Bruce to look into if equipment can be made available for farmers to clear snow.
    b) Bruce to ask mike if Highways can provide more grit bins.
    c) Tree conservation – who do we contact now Mike Catchpole has retired ?
    d) Village Fete Saturday June 25th.
    e) Jane suggested reserve funds of £305 could be used in part to buy commemorative mugs for the children of the village, to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee – general approval incl Bruce. It was hoped to have a street party for the Jubilee, Bruce thought any road closure would not be charged for.
    f) Japanese knot weed Church Lane refer to LA.
    g) Post code sends all to Church Lane, discuss at National Level with Patrick Mercer.
    h) We were sad to note the passing of Brian Johnson.
    i) Village activities such as the Wednesday Walking Club appear on the Village Web Site.
    j) Restring heavy lorry access – there is a long waiting list as cost £20,000 each, the local authority approve 10 pa, there are more needy cases.
